BAM Season Day: Hello Summer!

We are waiting for you in Portanuova at the Library of Trees Milan to celebrate the summer solstice together with Music! A sound wave inspired by typical Mediterranean music and dances to rediscover the power of folk roots and the gathering power of community traditions.

A day full of workshops for children, adults and families, participatory actions, traditional dances and musical moments with young talents involving the audience in a sound crescendo that closes in celebration with the great concert of the Italian Folk Orchestra conducted by Ambrogio Sparagna.

To embellish the grand stage of the final concert, Vittorio Palumbo’s two sustainable and site-specific installations for BAM reinterpret the tradition and ritual of the luminarie of patronal festivals and religious traditions of southern Italy. They are called Komorebi and Fioriture and are part of the “Design for Planet” collection. Art, design and nature come back to play together in public spaces.

In addition to BAM Park Ambassadors Volvo Car Italia and Howden who support all the park’s cultural programming and activities, which also have the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the City of Milan, Hello Summer sees the MIC, Ministry of Culture, Fondazione Cariplo, and Hospitality Partner Avani at its side.
