BAM for BookCity 2024: Peaceful Voices

This year Poetry and the City will be titled Poetry and Peace, a time to focus on poems of peace in times of war. The poets Nicola Gardini, Vivian Lamarque, and Vittorio Lingiardi will read verses by Israeli and Palestinian, Russian and Ukrainian poets at 10:30 a.m. at the Riccardo Catella Foundation in Portanuova. There will be also attending Cecilia Strada, a member of the European Parliament, philanthropist, activist and former president of the NGO Emergency, and some students of the School of Peace, sponsored by the Community of Sant’Egidio.

We expect you at 11:30 a.m., along with the Poetry and the City collective, to read some peace poems from around the world. Among the Willows of BAM, the circular forest dedicated to peace, the voices of poets join the voices of the community for a moment of reflection through shared readings surrounded by the nature of the park.Find out more on the BAM website.
